It's really starting to hit me that I'm graduating in August!! In fact, I just started browsing graduation vacation options. A 7 day cruise to the Caribbean is looking awfully good...
I'm currently halfway through my 4th semester - already done with my Peds rotation and just started my OB rotation last week. Amazingly, I've already had to turn in my request form for my internship placement...and I still don't know what type of nursing I want to do! Right now I'm leaning toward OB/L&D or OR. I've really been enjoying my psych clinical, but I'm not sure I want to deviate from medical nursing right after graduation. While I can't attest for their validity, I'm hearing lots of arguments against doing so - being pigeon-holed as a psych nurse makes it difficult to transition to other areas. And with only an Associate's degree, it might not be a wise choice.
Trying to stay positive that school will find me a good placement that will give me some insight to my strengths. At least I'm really hoping this will be the case! I'm hoping if school can't place me anywhere interesting that I can find my own internship somewhere. Nerve-wracking stuff, I tell you.
I guess I'm using this as my excuse for not posting in a while. Not a very good excuse, but it's been difficult to focus on anything, and that includes this blog. Maybe I should start using these ramblings therapeutically and just write more often...perhaps it would help me to see the big picture and do a bit of problem-solving. Or perhaps it would just give me a platform for more rambling....
Any suggestions on what to be when I grow up are welcome!
Is there any kind of nursing where you get to use lasers? I would do that. LASER NURSE! AWESOME!
